Toasting an American classic
Traditional or adventurous, we like our grilled cheese
Childhood wouldn't be nearly as comforting without oozing, melted
cheese between crunchy, toasted bread.
As adults, we're drawn back to the simple grilled cheese sandwich
and the memories it stirs of winter days it warmed alongside a bowl
of steaming cream of tomato soup.
Some of us hold tight to tradition and still fry the sandwich with
yellow American cheese and white bread.
