West Bend Eager to attract more shoppers to the city's downtown,
merchants will investigate rescinding a traffic rule that prohibits
motorists on Highway 33 from entering N. Main St.
Making the change won't be easy, though, said Munzer Haidar of
Ayers Associates, a consulting firm hired by West Bend to help find a
solution.
The community will have to prove to the state Department of
Transportation that allowing turns from the highway, called
Washington St. in the city, won't impede the flow of traffic, he
said.
A public meeting concerning the proposed change will be at 9 a.m.
Tuesday at the West Bend Public School District building, 735 S. Main
