Hey, all you former Philadelphians in far-off Maryland, D.C.
and Virginia: Pine for Pine Street? Missing Man- ayunk? Homesick
for a hoagie? Care for a cheese steak?
Lillian and Leon Haines, who moved to this area 14 years ago
from Philly, sure did, and surely, they figured, did other
expatriates from the City of Brotherly Love residing in the
Washington area.
Then misfortune turned into good fortune. Leon, 51, lost his
job last summer as director of broadcast operations and engineering
at Channel 32 TV. He and wife Lillian, 56, saw in this turn of
events not unemployment checks but an opportunity to re-create here
