San Antonio There was more than just a National Basketball
Association championship on the line Thursday night at the SBC
Center, where the San Antonio Spurs took on the Detroit Pistons in a
winner-take-all Game 7 of the National Basketball Association Finals.
There were legacies at stake.
And when the final buzzer sounded and confetti fell on San
Antonio's hard-fought, 81-74 victory, the Spurs' place in the NBA
record book had been solidified.
By winning their third title since 1999, the Spurs can now be
mentioned in the same breath as the Shaquille O'Neal-Kobe Bryant Los
Angeles Lakers teams, Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls and the Showtime
Lakers teams as the only teams over the past 2 ...
