All-star second baseman Roberto Alomar gave his surgically
repaired left shoulder its biggest test of spring training today,
and said he plans to be in the Baltimore Orioles' lineup when they
open their exhibition season schedule Saturday.
Manager Ray Miller said he also plans to have all-star center
fielder Brady Anderson in the lineup for Saturday's Grapefruit
League opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Fort Lauderdale
Stadium. Anderson continues to feel the effects of a sore right
groin muscle, which he injured during last year's playoffs.
But Alomar's shoulder is the top concern. Alomar, 30, is among
the top few all-around players in baseball when he is healthy. But
