How I love those words. They let me lean over the table, forage around my children's plates and poke up the little morsels that are causing them such distress.

I could, I guess, put them on only half the pizza or eliminate them entirely from sauces or stir-fries.

But what fun would that be?

Those of us who love mushrooms love them like the stars.

When my husband and I order steaks, we make sure they're topped with mushrooms and gobble the 'shrooms up first.

At Chinese restaurants, the straw mushrooms dance before our eyes the way they did in Disney's "Fantasia."

Usually, we don't mind that the children don't like mushrooms.
