Washington State is rapidly gaining recognition as an important source for Merlot, but consumers should know that it also produces a full range of excellent reds and whites at very fair prices.

Red wines benefit from the cool temperatures of eastern Washington's nights, which preserve acidity levels that lend brightness and refinement.
