Mount Vernon senior Erin Lynch said she has been in a month-long slump since the second meet of the season.

But she broke out of it last night at the Virginia AAA National and Concorde District track and field championships, placing first in four events (55 hurdles, triple jump, high jump, 4x200 relay) and second in the long jump at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center in Arlington.

Her performances helped Mount Vernon win the National District girls title over Edison, 191-108.
