Butler Village trustees voted Tuesday to stick with the county's consolidated dispatch center, ending a months-long plea from Fire Chief Ron Worgull to withdraw from it.

Worgull thinks the center has unacceptable delays in dispatching emergency personnel.

The Village Board's 4-2 vote prevented the Butler Fire Department, one of the last of 29 agencies to join the center in March, from becoming the first to disconnect from it.

Worgull has complained that the average time the Waukesha center takes to dispatch for fire and emergency medical services, which he said Tuesday night is one minute and 48 seconds, is unacceptable compared with the 27 to 30 seconds that Menomonee Falls took to ...
