If every Big East game plays out as the conference opener did for the Marquette women's basketball team Tuesday night, coach Terri Mitchell fears that her hair will go gray before season's end.

But if every Big East game is as thrilling as the Golden Eagles' 60-57, comeback victory over St. John's, Mitchell will happily let nature take its course.

Marquette rallied from a 17-point, second-half deficit to upstage the previously unbeaten Red Storm at the Al McGuire Center.

Sure enough, the 2,003 fans who braved the cold to come watch Marquette's historic game witnessed a spectacle that made the night seem more like March than December.

The Golden Eagles (6-1, 1-0) appeared to be in trouble ...
