When South Milwaukee rejected Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett's
proposal to sell water to the suburb, Barrett sought out big business
for help, calling upon one of South Milwaukee's largest water
customers.
Barrett sought out the president and chief executive officer of
Bucyrus International, Tim Sullivan, to appeal to South Milwaukee
Mayor David Kieck's spirit of regional cooperation.
Barrett said he asked Sullivan "just to ask them to give it a
serious look and a fair shake. Look, if the numbers don't add up,
then let's move on. What I would hope we would get is a legitimate
analysis of this."
Kieck said he talked with Barrett and Sullivan and heard
