The Wauwatosa East boys basketball team picked the worst time to
start missing free throws Tuesday night.
The Raiders made all 10 free-throw attempts in the first 12
minutes of the second half, then missed four in the final 4 minutes
of regulation. That contributed to a 68-61 overtime loss to
Minnesota's St. Thomas Academy in the championship of the Blue
Division of the inaugural Wisconsin Boys Basketball Yearbook Shootout
at the Al McGuire Center.
Needless to say, Tosa East coach George Haas felt his team should
have won in regulation.
"If we make free throws, that's what we always say," Haas said.
