Lisa Stone's Wisconsin team suffered its fifth consecutive Big Ten
Conference loss Thursday night at the Kohl Center because it didn't
value the basketball in the first half and couldn't shoot straight
from the line in the second.
"The story of the game, obviously, was our first-half turnovers
and the second-half free-throw shooting," Stone said after the 68-59
loss to Iowa in front of 4,940 fans. "We're tired. We're beat up
mentally."
Iowa (12-6, 5-2) played erratically on offense, shooting just 40%
overall, was vulnerable on defense despite six steals from senior
guard Crystal Smith and lost the rebounding battle to UW, 43-31.
