They've shot tens of thousands of free throws.
They've perfected their routines at the free-throw line, whether
it's one dribble then shoot or three dribbles and a flip of the ball
before the shot.
They know what works and what doesn't.
So this late in the season on a senior-dominated squad, the last
thing that should suddenly be going awry for the UW-Milwaukee
basketball players is free-throw shooting. Lately, though, it has
become a sore spot.
Counting all 21 games, the Panthers are seventh in the Horizon
League in free-throw shooting at 68.1%. In league games only, UWM is
even worse off at 65.6%, although they move up a notch to sixth among
the nine teams in the conference.
