On the court
PLAYER OF THE GAME: LeBron James of Cleveland was the star of
stars, scoring 29 points and leading the Eastern Conference's
victory. James was the game's most valuable player.
PLAY OF THE GAME: Dwyane Wade's rebound-basket with 16.6 seconds
left was the winner for the East.
OFF THE BENCH: Perhaps no one enjoyed the All-Star Game, and
probably the entire weekend, more than West coach Avery Johnson, who
was making his first all-star appearance. "I think I smiled more in
the last two or three days than I have all year," he said.
STATISTICS SHEET: Pau Gasol of Memphis and Ben Wallace of Detroit
were the only players who did not score.
