Article: THE MASTERS NOTES; Clark makes name for himself; Solid finish for South African

Augusta, Ga. Paired with Tiger Woods and chasing leader Phil Mickelson in the final round of the Masters Tournament, Tim Clark knew few people were paying attention to him Sunday.

"I'm sure I'm the last guy (Mickelson) was worrying about out there," Clark said.

The 30-year-old South African kept his head down, went about his business and wound up the surprise runner-up, thanks to his hole-out from a bunker on the 72nd hole.

Clark's birdie from the sand gave him a 69 and a 5-under-par 283 total. He finished alone in second, two strokes behind Mickelson.

"I think it makes me a little bit more determined to play well,"
