La Crosse One night last weekend I found myself in need of
sustenance, so I called a favorite and familiar restaurant for a
reservation and at the appointed hour walked hungrily from my
downtown hotel to . . .
YIKES! Who moved Piggy's? For years it had been there on the
Mississippi riverfront, serving ribs to men in bibs. Every time I
went there it had been there, yet on the spot where I had envisioned
yet another Piggy's dinner there was an office building. But hadn't I
just talked to them? Didn't I have a reservation? How could I have a
reservation for a place that wasn't there?
I'm happy to report that with a little help from a passing
carriage driver I discovered that Piggy's had moved ...
