Article: Attanasio sees bright future; Brewers expect increase in attendance, payroll

The Milwaukee Brewers might be hanging by their fingernails as they try to climb back into the wild-card playoff race, but at least fans are paying attention to the club's fortunes.

That's the assessment of Mark Attanasio, the team's principal owner, who spoke to a group of Milwaukee businessmen and women Thursday morning at the Pfister Hotel.

"I just love the fact that we are relevant," Attanasio said.

With a strong turnout this week for three home games with the Pittsburgh Pirates, attendance stands at 1,457,417 through 52 home games, for an average of 28,027 per game.

That puts the Brewers 17th in the league in attendance, out of 30 teams.
