Ryan Mathews surprised himself with his runner-up finish in ARCA
Re / Max Series competition last Friday, but he doesn't want anyone
to be shocked if he repeats it Sunday or even improves.
The upwardly mobile, 26-year-old racer from Lake Geneva is
relatively new to ARCA and admits to being out of his element still
on a 190 mph track such as Michigan International Speedway, where he
pulled off the best finish of his rookie season.
But the series will bring Mathews home this weekend. The
Governor's Cup 200 is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Milwaukee
Mile, where he has raced several times and where he is bound to feel
more comfortable.
