Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio heard from a very close source that the club's long-suffering fans have the right to expect better next year, especially after more than 2.3 million tickets were sold during the disappointing 2006 campaign.

"My wife, Debbie, who clearly comes at this as a fan, said, You better do something,' " Attanasio recalled with a chuckle.

"I understand why the fans feel that way because my wife feels that way. The fans have been absolutely supportive. We need to continue to earn and justify that support by putting the best team on the field we can."
