BOTH parents of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann this week
declared they "couldn't countenance" returning to the UK without the
beloved daughter. And the story has to be the same for the
newspaper, radio and TV staff covering the story over there.
Notwithstanding yesterday's turn of events when police revealed
they had questioned Briton Robert Murat, it has not been easy
keeping the story fresh and injecting new angles or impetus. But I
know whether people care or not about a story after I mention it on
my morning phone-in show. Get it right and rows of lights blink
continuously at you as everyone scrambles to join in.
