A 76-year-old Hales Corners man who suffered a near-fatal heart attack after getting into a fight with a younger man who had parked in a handicapped space will undergo open heart surgery today.

The 76-year-old collapsed Monday after he confronted a 25-year-old Hales Corners man and pulled him by the shirt collar into the K mart store at 5600 S. 108th St., police said Monday.

Two Hales Corners police officers who responded to a report of the disturbance said they found the older man on the floor near the store's entrance. He did not have a pulse and wasn't breathing, police said.
