The Pump-a-Present balloon gift wrap system, invented and marketed
by the Scherr family of New Berlin, was chosen as one of the best
products in the country on QVC's "Quest for America's Best 50 in 50
Tour." The tour was a yearlong search by the television shopping
network for the best new products and the entrepreneurs who created
them. The Pump-a-Present was invented a few years ago by Mark
Scherr, a heating, ventilating and air conditioning service
engineer. The Pump-a-Present allows users to wrap a gift item
inside a balloon. Scherr's wife, Susan, is in charge of marketing.
The Scherrs won a plaque for the QVC honor, which ranks the
