Article: Belmont Hotel, Center Board near agreement

Sources on both sides of a dispute between the Wisconsin Center Board and the Belmont Hotel said Thursday they were close to an agreement on the sale of the hotel building.

Also Thursday, the board overseeing Milwaukee's new convention center heard protests from about 100 minority and female workers before postponing discussion of its controversial hiring policy.

James Huber, an attorney representing the Belmont Hotel Corp., said his client could reach a resolution with the board as soon as today. He declined to comment on specifics.
