One friend called him "Fuzzy" because Glenn Konrath was like a
big, fuzzy teddy bear.
Konrath, one of Slinger's most active volunteers, died Friday of
a heart attack. He was 46.
"I told him he was just a big teddy bear and he told me not to
tell the kids that. He had to keep them in line somehow," said Russ
Brandt of Brandt Printing in Slinger.
Konrath was a businessman. He owned Konrath Bus Service Slinger
in addition to running a milk hauling service.
But his heart and soul were devoted to being a volunteer. And
that was what Konrath spent a lot of time doing.
"We had a district Rotary meeting on Saturday and one of the
district governors said he didn't think people in Slinger knew ...
