Q. My problem is a little different from the one you talked
about in your discussion of pinkeye {Consultation, January 20}. My
eyes get red and itchy a lot, especially in the spring. My doctor
says I don't have any infection, even though some people assume I do
from the way my eyes look. I generally use some eye drops, which
help clear the redness, although they don't do much for the itching.
What else can I use?
A. It sounds like you have allergic conjunctivitis -- a
reaction your eyes have when exposed to something you're allergic
to. Allergic conjunctivitis is the eye equivalent of a runny nose
