Conflicts in the divorce of Richard F. and Amy Pfeiffer brought
the couple to Washington County Circuit Court at least a dozen times
on issues of child support, medical bills and visitation.
Richard Pfeiffer is now appearing in court because authorities say
the dispute culminated in his attempted murder of his ex-wife on
Jan. 13, 1994.
Pfeiffer, who remained in custody Sunday on $50,000 cash bail, on
Wednesday waived his right to have a preliminary hearing within 10
days. That hearing now will be held Feb. 28 before Circuit Judge
James Schwalbach.
Pfeiffer, 33, of Hartford, was charged Tuesday with attempted
