Article: `Sewer wars' go before PSC again FLOW communities claim sewerage district lied to them on taxes in 1980

Nearly $153 million in the regional "sewer wars" dispute hangs in the balance as the state Public Service Commission on Monday opens three weeks of hearings into allegations that the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District lied to several suburbs.

The central issue before the commission is whether the regional sewerage district in 1980 had deceived six communities outside of Milwaukee County about how they would be charged for their share of facility construction costs in a $2.9 billion expansion program that is now complete.
