Snow and ice-covered roads made driving treacherous in parts of
the state Thursday, as a half-foot of snow was added to central
Wisconsin's landscape.
The National Weather Service said there could be plenty more on
the way today.
A winter storm watch with possible snow totals in excess of 6
inches was in effect for southeastern Wisconsin for this afternoon
and tonight, the weather service said.
The watch includes the cities of Green Bay, Fond du Lac, Milwaukee
and Madison.
Much like the storm that hit Wisconsin Tuesday, a strong low
pressure system over the Oklahoma panhandle region was expected to
carry moist snow northeast through Illinois Friday evening.
