Charges were being sought Monday against an Addison farmer who
allegedly shot a neighbor's trespassing dog, threw the carcass in
the back of his pickup truck and dumped it in a frozen creek bed on
his property.
The dog, Molly, was a 7-year-old black Labrador retriever.
The official investigation began late Friday. The owner of the
dog, Dean Blankenburg, 46, called the Washington County Sheriff's
Department to report that another neighbor had witnessed the dog
being shot.
"I heard the shot," Pamela Olivio, 43, told a reporter Monday.
Olivio quickly looked out a back window. She saw a dog moving on
