This time, the Marquette Golden Eagles ran out of second-half runs and last-minute heroics.

Before Sunday, Marquette had displayed enough of a spurt at the right time to win its previous four games even though it had not played particularly well.

That all ended Sunday at the Kiel Center against the fired-up St. Louis Billikens. The Golden Eagles were thoroughly outplayed at both ends of the floor in a 69-58 loss before a boisterous crowd of 19,714.
