Article: Latino men cook fund-raiser fare

Come Sunday, Perfecto Rivera will be cooking for a cause.

Rivera, president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and community development officer for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, will prepare a white bean chili to help raise scholarship money for Hispanic students.

The chili, along with favorite Latin dishes prepared by about 70 other men, will be featured at the first "Nuestros Mejores Cocineros . . . Our Finest Male Cooks Featuring Latin Foods" fund-raiser, set for noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Hyatt Regency Hotel's main ballroom, 333 W. Kilbourn Ave.

For $20 a person, the public may sample entrees, appetizers and desserts prepared by men in the community. ...
