Article: Activist subdued by police after traffic stop

An activist who has protested the lack of jobs for African-Americans on the Wisconsin Center project was subdued by force Wednesday after a traffic stop escalated into a scuffle with police.

LaMonte Harris was stopped while driving in the 900 block of N. 4th St. and cited for driving with a revoked license, said Police Sgt. Earnell Lucas. Officers then attempted to fingerprint Harris, as they do under department orders to verify a person's identity, and Harris refused to cooperate, Lucas said.
