Milk used to be a natural. Not anymore.

Young children today are drinking less milk than children 20 years ago, and teenage girls on diets are shunning milk, much to the dismay of nutritionists.

Milk consumption has decreased markedly across all age and gender groups since the late 1970s, according to initial results of a three-year nationwide food consumption survey. The survey, called "What We Eat in America," was done by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Instead of milk, we're guzzling soft drinks and non-citrus juices.
