Kimberly-Clark Corp. apparently will not be selling any Wisconsin
tissue mills in connection with its $9.4 billion purchase of Scott
Paper Co., the company said Tuesday.
That means about 1,300 employees at mills in Neenah and Marinette
will remain employees of Kimberly-Clark, pending the U.S. Department
of Justice's approval of the arrangement.
Kimberly-Clark announced it had agreed to sell a former Scott
tissue mill in Fort Edward, N.Y., to Irving Tissue Inc., of St.
John, New Brunswick. The Fort Edward mill was one of four tissue
mills that Kimberly-Clark said in December could be sold to gain
Justice Department approval of the Scott purchase.
