Anyone who has seen the movie "Jurassic Park" could never forget
the nightmarish velociraptors the vicious, 6-foot dinosaurs that
traveled in packs, armed with razor-sharp teeth, wicked, retractable
claws and enough brainpower to outwit H. Norman Schwarzkopf and Bill
Gates put together.
"They're lethal at eight months and I do mean lethal," one
scientist says in the 1993 Steven Spielberg film. "They show
extreme intelligence; even problem-solving skills."
Now the science: The raptors were indeed vicious, may have hunted
in packs and did have large sickle-like claws on their hind feet,
but most were only about the size of wolves.
