What do you say to a waiter who offers you crawfish cheesecake?
"No, thank you," if you're a strict meat-and-potatoes person.
"Bring it on!" if you're a lover of Louisianan food.
Unfortunately, if you're a person with a taste for Cajun and
Creole and live in Milwaukee, you know times are tough. In the
1980s, when Cajun food was all the rage, we Cajun crazies could get
spicy blackened entrees everywhere.
But the fad fled. The old Benny's Bayou Kitchen on Blue Mound
Road has been gone for two years, and the long lines at Crawdaddy's,
6501 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, can try your patience.
So what's a spice-craving body to do?
