The New York Times won three Pulitzer Prizes and Newsday won two
Tuesday as a number of the awards went to coverage of tragedies from
the Oklahoma City bombing to the Ebola virus.
Alix M. Freedman of The Wall Street Journal won the national
reporting prize for her coverage of the tobacco industry.
The Orange County (Calif.) Register won the investigative
reporting prize for uncovering fraud and deception in a fertility
clinic. The News & Observer of Raleigh, N.C., captured the public
service medal for exposing environmental and health risks in the hog
farming industry.
Charles Porter IV, a freelancer, won the spot news photography
prize for his pictures of a 1-year-old victim being cradled ...
