If Miller Park were built at N. Water St. and E. Juneau Ave., the
economic impact on downtown businesses would be huge, according to
nearly everyone.
But aside from existing businesses, there are commercial
developments in the planning stage that could receive an unexpected
boost from a downtown baseball stadium.
Here's a list of developments that could get a jolt as sharp as a
Ben McDonald fastball:
Brewer's Point Apartments, 1858 N. Commerce St. Carnahan Corp. has
been trying since 1990 to secure financing that would convert the
former 160,000-square-foot Gimbel Brothers Inc. warehouse into 107
upscale apartments.
