Al Pacino sleeps in a sleek, expanded chaise longue upholstered
in black velvet. Kevin Costner has a king-size teak Lord Brabourne
bed reminiscent of the British colonial era.
But those pieces, pictured in the current In Style magazine, are
bit players compared to the massive King Tudor canopy bed newly
starring in one southeastern Wisconsin boudoir.
"The entire back wall of the bed, from the floor to the canopy,
is carved mahogany, and the canopy has a tufted {silk} top," says
Teresa Erickson, an interior designer for Porters of Racine, which
sold the bed. The Filipino import, with its turned front columns
and intricate woodwork, "was probably the most ornate bed we've
had."
