Milwaukee County officials broke "numerous state laws" when they
ordered the emergency removal of a 41/2-year-old girl from her foster
home, and they should be the focus of a John Doe investigation,
according to a letter sent by a state senator to the county's chief
judge.
A circuit judge will decide whether the John Doe investigation
requested by Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) is warranted,
Chief Judge Patrick Sheedy said Wednesday.
However, the county's legal counsel said Wednesday that there was
no ground for an investigation and the felony violation cited by
Darling did not apply to this case.
