It's 11:20 Sunday morning at Bethlehem Temple Church, and the
Glory Train is picking up steam.Mother Rogers is at the piano
warming up the small congregation with a series of guaranteed-to
-clear-the-arteries- and-lift-the-spirit gospel tunes, such as "Over
in That Gloryland," "Oh, How I Love Jesus" and "He Never Failed Me
Yet."
Gradually, other musicians move into place: an organist, and a
drummer who bangs like he went to church with Little Richard.
Another elegantly attired older lady stalks the aisles banging away
at a tambourine. Then the little choir files in, decked in royal
blue robes, and takes its station up front.
