Today could be the last Good Friday that you won't be able to go
to City Hall to get a dog license.
More than half of Waukesha County's municipalities are either
closed or have limited hours on Good Friday. But that could change
as early as next year as many municipalities review their policies in
the wake of a recent federal court ruling that state laws giving
workers four hours off on Good Friday violated the separation of
church and state.
The ruling does not directly affect municipalities, but many plan
to review the Good Friday holiday before next year. In Muskego, for
example, where City Hall closes at noon, Mayor David De Angelis said
the city might offer employees a floating ...
