The privilege of captaincy also brings certain responsibilities,
such as helping inexperienced football players ready themselves for
their first collegiate start.
Talking might help but you know what they say about talk. So
maybe that's why Wisconsin co-captain and tough-guy linebacker Pete
Monty decided to take the unconventional route during training camp
with new quarterback Mike Samuel.
"I'd give him little pokes here and there, a little jab in the
ribs or a mental shot after I tackled him to see how he would react,"
said Monty, a 249-pound wrecking machine.
Let's just say Monty elicited the desired effect. The neophyte
