Today is generally considered the midpoint of summer, and I don't have to tell you that it has been a bit on the cool side so far.

There haven't been many days in the 80s and 90s, and you all remember the start of June with a few highs in the 40s. We had four days with highs above 90 degrees since June 1, and only 10 days with highs in the 80s.

July has a different calendar meaning in the Southern and Atlantic coastal states, as those folks follow the hurricane alert calendar in summer. The calendar goes like this: May, not today!
