The latest potshot came from Bob Costas, meaning Dante Bichette
was subjected to a national broadside. Fans across the country
snickered during the All-Star Game when Costas referred to Bichette
as "the poster boy" for Coors Field.
It has become fashionable to belittle the Colorado Rockies and
Bichette, in particular, for being Coors Field creations and to
scoff at their statistics. They're altitude aided, skewed by a
hitting palace and, hence, dubious, the skeptics say.
Thirty years from now, long after his playing days are done,
Bichette would like to be remembered as a great Rockies player and a
great hitter. Because he's in his fourth full season in Denver, he
