The state Public Service Commission Thursday handed the Milwaukee
Metropolitan Sewerage District a clear victory in the long-running
"sewer wars."
The PSC ruled against a coalition of eight area suburbs on all
major issues contained in a complaint filed over the district's
method of charging the suburbs for sewer capital costs.
"The sewer war is over; we're just waiting for the check. It may
take two years to get it, but we'll get it," said sewerage district
spokesman Steve McKay, alluding to a possible appeal of the decision
by the suburbs. An appeal could take 18 months to two years.
The suburbs were represented by their coalition, known as FLOW,
which stands for Fair Liquidation of Waste. ...
