If the founder of Trader Vic's had been a sailor, what could have
resulted might be something like the restaurant Pieces of Eight.
With its beach house structure and nautical trimmings, the
lakefront establishment is known mainly as a seafood restaurant. But
it also has an extensive bar, lounge and outdoor patio area, which
have become popular among downtown happy-hour crowds.
The patio offers the chance to unwind with a view overlooking the
small harbor that separates the restaurant from the Milwaukee Art
Museum. The patio is open throughout summer, weather permitting. If
not, you can enjoy the lakefront scenes through the lounge's
wide-angle windows.
