The decimated Friday Canning Corp.'s packing plant will be at
least partially in operation within 21/2 weeks and be completely
rebuilt by 1997, it was announced Monday.
"We will have partial production by then," Plant Manager Don
Golesh said as work crews hustled around, cleaning up the debris.
"We are cleaning up now and removing equipment.
"We are going to put up a temporary building as soon as possible
so we can work."
The company's 135,000-square-foot vegetable canning plant a
community fixture since 1926 was mostly leveled Thursday night by a
tornado that ripped through this small Fond du Lac County community.
