Like Wisconsin's weather, the Wolf River takes on many moods for
rafters in a very short time.
Spaced out between the quick chop of boulder-strewn white-water
rapids in Langlade County are quiet, lazy sections where time slows
to a crawl, allowing the rider to appreciate the serenity of his
surroundings.
Here, dragonflies alight on resting paddles and Tiger Swallowtail
butterflies, with their bright yellow and black stripes, flutter
through the air.
A young family of mallards, nestled in the shoreline brush,
warily watches the rafts float down its main street.
